Associate Professor Dr. Lee Learn Han

Associate Professor Dr. Lee Learn-Han is a molecular microbiologist and the Leader of the Microbiome and Bioresource Research Strength, Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Monash University Malaysia. He is recognized as the best Medical Science researcher in Malaysia, as Malaysia’s Research Star Award (MRSA) Winner 2018. Also, He received the prestigious award of Professional Registers as Chartered Biologist (CBiol) from the Royal Society of Biology, UK, in 2017. To date, Dr. Lee has registered 2 patents, published 7 academic books, 16 book chapters, and published >220 articles with cumulative citations of >7980, H-index of 47and i10-index of 136. In addition, he served as PI and co-PI for 24 grants totaling ~RM3.83 million. Also, he has supervised 11 Ph.D. students to completion and currently supervising 7 Ph.D. students.

Dr. Vengadesh Letchumanan

Dr. Vengadesh Letchumanan is a Lecturer and Section Leader of Diagnostics and Pathogens, Microbiome and Bioresource Research Strength (MBRS), Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Monash University Malaysia. He holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from University of Malaya, Malaysia. To date, Dr. Vengadesh has published 1 book chapter, and 61 peer-reviewed articles with cumulative citations of 1290, H-index of 18 and i10-index of 29. He is supervising two Ph.D. students and serves as PI/Co-PI in internal school grants. His research focus is on multidrug-resistant pathogens, microbial systematics, and exploring the gut-brain axis and gut microbiome association.

Dr. Jodi Law Woan-Fei

Dr. Jodi Law Woan-Fei is a Lecturer at Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. She also serves as a section leader of Diagnostics and Pathogens, Microbiome and Bioresource Research Strength (MBRS). Her research interests include the biosystematic study of novel Streptomyces from mangroves and exploration of their bioactive properties. She has been studying microbes of environmental origins, and now she is looking forward to expanding her research by investigating the microbes from the human body (human microbiome). Additionally, she firmly believes that it is crucial to identify bacterial pathogens from the human/environmental microbiome and examine their antibiotic resistance profile to gauge the prevalence of multidrug-resistant strains and to generate potential solutions for this issue. She has over 50 publications, with Google Scholar H-index: 17, i10-index: 27, and cumulative citations of 1772.

Dr. Tan Loh Teng Hern

Dr. Tan Loh Teng Hern is a Lecturer in Clinical School Johor Bahru (CSJB), Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. He is also a section leader of Precision Medicine & Microbiome Intervention under the Microbiome & Bioresource Research Strength (MBRS). His current research interests focus on investigating the role of gut microbiome in association with health and diseases as well as exploring the benefits of probiotic interventions for aquaculture and human health. To date, he has more than 70 publications, with cumulative citations of 2172, H-index of 24 and i10-index of 44.

Associate Professor Dr. Goh Bey Hing

Dr Goh Bey Hing, is the Leader of Biofunctional Molecule Exploratory Research Group, School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia. His current research focuses on the study of functionality of natural products derived from diverse sources such as herbs used in traditional medications, microbes and algae. To date, he has recorded more than 5000 citations and achieved an H-index of 41. He is currently serving as Associate Editor for Frontiers in Pharmacology, Editor for BioMed Research International & Guest Editor Frontiers in Nutrition, Molecules, JoVE etc. Apart from playing his role as a world recognized researcher, as educator, Dr Goh has also contributed greatly in the teaching innovations and received multiple awards in educational activities. In addition to academic achievements, Dr Goh’s exceptional expertise in biochemistry has led to the invitations and serving as advisor for biotech, aquaculture & wellness industry companies. Finally, his great commitment to research, educational and engagement activities has earned him the prestigious award of Chartered Biologist (CBiol) status from Royal Society of Biology, United Kingdom and JCI TOP 10 Outstanding Young Malaysian in year 2020 in recognition of excellence in contributions to the community in all of these categories.

Associate Professor Dr. Tahir Mehmood Khan

Dr. Khan got extensive research experience in evidence-based medicine. He is the founding editor of " Archives of Pharmacy Practice " His Prime areas of interest are systematic review, meta-analysis, and network meta-analysis. To date, he has received more than 6000 citations and over 400 scientific publications. Currently, he is the Chair of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences UVAS Lahore Pakistan.

Associate Professor Dr. Long Chiau Ming

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Long completed Bachelor and Master of Pharmacy at USM. He obtained Ph.D. at the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Bath, England. To date, he has more than 14 years of academic, research, and industrial experience. He publishes widely in the field of clinical studies and health services research. Dr. Long is also the Associate Editor of BMC Health Services Research and Managing Editor of Malaysian Journal of Pharmacy. He is an Associate Professor at PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). His research group is active in research related to integrative medicine and nutraceutical.

Associate Professor Dr. Nurul Syakima Bt Ab Mutalib

UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI)

Dr. Syakima’s research leadership was evidenced by her appointment in various important management positions in UMBI such as the Head of Quality Assurance, Team Leader for COVID-19 RT-PCR testing, Chief Technical Officer, Lead Coordinator of Cancer Biobank, Team Leader of Cancer Genomics and Visiting Fellow of Newcastle University (UK). Her expertise in cancer research has been recognized with numerous awards, including the distinguished UK-based Rutherford Strategic Link Short Term Grant Fellowship Award by Newcastle University. Under her excellent research leadership and activities, UMBI has developed a high standard of research performance in recent years with Dr. Syakima directly contributing to 6 IPs, 88 published articles, 51 conference papers, 2 books, and 6 book chapters. She has a solid track record in securing competitive national and international grants. She is the PI (5 projects totalling RM510k), co-PI and co-investigator (21 projects totalling RM5.488million) for a total of 26 competitive grants totalling at an astounding RM5.998million (year 2013-2020).
